Final lineup for the festival day!

With only 11 more days until the big bang, we can finally announce the last band to grace us at Das Boot 2008:

Essence Of Mind (N)
It is not everyday that Norway bears a new electronic fruit. However, history also has shown us that with bands like Apoptygma Berzerk, Icon Of Coil or yet Combichrist, the Norwegian seal is a guarantee for skill and quality.
Created in the spring of 2006, Oslo's up-and-coming electro duo Essence Of Mind will certainly maintain the excellence we have come to expect from Norwegian electronics! Their hard-hitting sonic assaults combine modern techno body music, pumping EBM bass-lines, catchy synth melodies and strong powerful vocals.
In autumn of 2007 Essence Of Mind joined Belgium?s Alfa Matrix label and the debut album called "Insurrection" was released in the spring this year.
Essence Of Mind is also popping up on various scene compilations like Endzeit Bunkertracks 3, Extreme Sündenfall 7 etc. Imagine a sound between the old stuff from Apoptygma Berzerk and Icon Of Coil.

Tickets can still be purchased online via BilletLugen, until Monday the 1st of September, be sure to secure yours now!

We also want to remind you that even though Forbrændingen is located a small train ride from central Copenhagen, getting home should not be a problem. By the time the party ends at 5 in the morning, the first trains have already started moving, and night busses are going all night.
See you at the festival!

A final correction!

Due to matters which are totally out of our hands, the prequel party has been relocated again. Apparently it is now final that Stubnitz will be STAYING at Langebro for a while longer, meaning it will still be at the old address tomorrow when we're having our prequel party!

We hope to see everyone, despite the confusion!

Ticket details

For those wanting tickets to the main festival in September, you can do so right here at BilletLugen
Keep in mind that there is no presale for the prequel on Stubnitz the 17th this month (only a week left!) - as already stated, that event will be DKK 100,- at the entrance.

Correction!

We have just been informed that by the 17th of July, Stubnitz will have relocated to Teglholmen instead of Langebro! So when heading for the prequel party, you need to look a bit south of Fisketorvet. Just to make sure, we'll add a map in the Information section shortly. Details have been changed AGAIN! Apparently Stubnitz will be staying at Langebro now. This location should be easier to find than Teglholmen, so we hope to see everyone, despite the confusion!

Announcing the prequel

Yes! We are finally able to announce the first details about this year's Das Boot Festival! It will be split up into two large parties, one in July and one in September.

With a very short notice, it was announced that our original venue, the M/S Stubnitz, is finally returning to Copenhagen for most of July, so on the 17th of July, we will be making a return to our favourite ship for a prequel party featuring a quality lineup of four talented Danish bands as well as two international ones, playing on two stages - One dedicated to EBM/synth, and one with the focus on power noise and IDM

As for the main festival, it will take place on the 5th of September at Forbrændingen, and we have a killer line-up ready for you this year! Already announced is three of our favourite bands - Fixmer/McCarthy, Rotersand and Straftanz, with more to be announced later.

Details for the prequel party:

Thursday the 17th of July. Doors open at 19.30.
At MS Stubnitz, Langebro
Entrance: 100 dkk. No pre-sale, only tickets at the doors.

Main stage:

The Swedish band Red Cell played their first Danish gig a few years ago at the church in Møllegade. Since then a lot of things have happened, after getting a record deal with the fast growing label Progress Productions (also home of Sturm Café, Iambia, Necro Facility, Cryo etc.)
They have released two albums with the second one just out, entitled "Lead Or Follow". On the new album, the guitars were canned for a more synth heavy sound, which can be described as Future Pop with some Industrial Rock influences.
Here is the chance to see Red Cell for the second time in Copenhagen, and after the great reviews "Lead Or Follow" has received, we're keeping our fingers crossed that it will be possible to afford a third time, some time in the future.

Neotek's only album, "Brain Over Muscle" was released back in 1995, with a special re-release as a double album in 2004. This is their first gig in Copenhagen since they last played at Stubnitz, for the very first Das Boot Festival in July 2006, where they played together with bands like Suicide Commando, Grendel and Solitary Experiments. This is the chance to see this genuinely old school Danish cult band again.
Neotek are working on their 2nd album with a planned release this Autumn - expect a new sound, which could be described as a mixture of Nine Inch Nails and Front 242.

Fake The Envy is probably one of Denmark's most active synthpop bands. They have already released two albums on their own record label Idle Works (also the home of MachineSoldier) in just a couple of years, and a third one is in the process. Fake The Envy have played a few shows in Copenhagen, supporting bands like VNV Nation, Client, and Helios.
Fake The Envy plays pure synthpop and has a sound that can be compared to bands like Mesh, De/Vision and Elegant Machinery.

Stage #2

Hailing from the UK comes one of the big talents in the IDM scene, Autoclav 1.1, who has released multiple remarkable albums on the American labels Crunch Pod and Hive Records, while the new album entitled "Love No Longer Lives Here" is out on the rising label Tympanik Audio (home of Displacer, Pnuematic Detach, Subheim etc.), also in the US.
Autoclav 1.1's melodic, noisy, and sometimes danceable IDM sound is quite overlooked in Denmark. In some ways, you can compare his sound to the excellent IDM bands Gridlock and Somatic Responses.

A-E shouldn't require any further introduction, as the mastermind behind the project, DJ HAL a.k.a. Tim, has been a part of the local scene for a long time, and has played several concerts here in Copenhagen alongside bands such as Winterkälte, Klangstabil, and In Strict Confidence.
A-E started out as a pure Power Noise project, but since then, he has developed a more melodic sound with added IDM influences. A-E is one of our most promising secrets in Denmark, and hopefully he will soon be discovered by a potent record label.

Lars of Command Interface is notorious for his innumerable music projects, including familiar ones such as Hate Therapy and ZBR. While he has been experimenting with anything from gabber and noise to danceable EBM, Command Interface offers right-in-your-face power noise. Here will be no lack of danceable noisy tunes for you to throw yourself around to.
Command Interface is a kind of "Old School" Power Noise as some people like to call it nowadays, and it's easy to hear the influences from great bands/projects like Converter, Winterkälte, Punch Inc., 100 Blumen and so on.
